Leaders of the Hadhramaut Conference held a meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with representatives of the office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to discuss the escalating crisis between the tribes of Hadhramaut and the Presidential Council and its government.
A statement published by the conference on its official Facebook page indicated that the meeting addressed the ongoing tensions in Hadhramaut and the worsening crisis, which has significantly impacted the lives of citizens. The conference also presented the demands it shares with the Hadhramaut Tribes Alliance to achieve the aspirations of the Hadhrami people and secure their legitimate rights.
During the meeting, which was attended by members of the conference’s leadership and the heads of the Political and Security and Defense Departments, the conference emphasized the importance of ensuring the right of the people of Hadhramaut to a secure future where they enjoy social justice, political, and economic rights, free from any marginalization or domination.
This meeting is part of a series of discussions that the office of the UN Special Envoy has been holding with various political parties in Yemen, as the Hadhramaut crisis increasingly becomes an issue of international concern.
